With the continuous development of the national economy, the demand for electricity has always been increasing. As the main equipment in the transmission and transformation system, the development of the Transformer is also long-term and stable. In order to better meet the market demand, many transformer manufacturers are constantly improving the product structure, improving the product performance, developing new transformers and introducing foreign advanced production technology and production equipment, and strengthening the continuous transformation of the transformer market. In recent years, we present the following major trends in the transformer city.

1. Development of environment-friendly Transformer

With the continuous improvement of national environmental protection regulations and the enhancement of public awareness of environmental protection, the construction of substations, especially the construction of Urban Substations, is becoming more and more restrictive to environmental protection. Among them, the energy consumption, noise and electromagnetic field produced by transformer and reactor are all the environmental factors that should be considered in the design of substation, distribution network arrangement or environmental protection evaluation. To this end, the transformer is first required to be environmentally-friendly, mainly in four aspects: energy saving, low noise, no penetration and degradation and recycling.

2. Transformer to large capacity, high voltage, high reliability development.

At present, Transformer products are classified into high-end transformers, 220-500kV transformers, 110-200kV transformers and transformers less than 110kV according to their voltage levels. The higher the voltage grade of transmission and transformation line is, the greater the power transmission and transmission capacity, the overall development direction of the transformer is that the voltage level will develop to 750kV and 1000kV, which is mainly used in long distance transmission and transmission lines, and the capacity is developed from three phase 120MVA-840MVA, even 900MVA, single phase, 250MVA-400MVA, even 533MVA. Because these transformers are usually used in large power plants or power transmission, their reliability is very important.

3. The development of city network transformer to high impedance

Urban transformer should be characterized by high reliability, energy saving, environmental protection, low noise and miniaturization. Substations in cities are sometimes individualized, thus affecting the structure and appearance of transformers, and even the way and mode of cooling.

4. The development of transformer to miniaturization and portable

Nowadays, the power supply products are generally characterized by "light, thin, short and small", and are developing towards miniaturization and portability. For example, an electronic transformer must be adapted to the volume and weight requirements of the power source as a user. At the same time, the prices of raw materials (core materials and conductive materials) of electronic transformers are rising. Therefore, how to reduce the volume and weight and how to reduce the cost will become the main direction of the future development of electronic transformer.

The main products of energy saving, miniaturization, low noise, high impedance and explosion proof are mainly medium and small, such as the new S9 type distribution transformer recommended in the city network and the transformation of the agricultural network, and the transformers with coiling core, amorphous alloy, all sealed, combined, dry, high burning point oil and SF6 gas insulation.

The transformer industry is closely related to the state grid construction policy. At present, the Chinese government and industry authorities attach great importance to the contradiction between power grid and power supply imbalance, and strive to solve the lag of power grid construction and the weak grid structure, so as to adapt to the rapid growth of electricity demand and realize the comprehensive and coordinated development of the power grid and the economy and society.
