With the development of science and technology, common circuit breakers are moulded case circuit breakers (MCCB) and miniature circuit breakers (MCB). The differences between them are as follows.
The main function of moulded case circuit breaker is to provide protection function for overload and short circuit in low voltage distribution system and motor protection circuit. Because of its reliability and stability, it has been widely used in industry. Miniature circuit breaker is also a circuit breaker product with a large range of applications and quantity. Its main function is to provide protection for distribution devices of building electrical terminals. Because both of them belong to circuit breakers, and moulded case circuit breakers are mostly used for small capacity switching, it is very realistic and important to know the difference between them and choose the right products. Here is a brief explanation.
First of all, the basic similarities, because both belong to circuit breakers, need to comply with some basic product standards, have the same working principle. Next, the differences between the two are as follows: 1. Electrical parameters are different; 2. Mechanical parameters are different; 3. Working environment is different. In addition, from the point of view of purchasing, the differences between the two are discussed in detail.
Moulded case circuit breakers have the highest current level of 2000A, while miniature circuit breakers have the highest current level of 125A. Because of the difference in capacity between the two, the effective area of the moulded case circuit breaker is larger than that of the miniature circuit breaker. At the same time, the connecting wires are thicker, which can reach more than 35 square millimeters, while the miniature circuit breaker is only suitable for connecting wires under 10 square millimeters. So generally for indoor conditions, the larger room is more suitable for choosing moulded case circuit breaker.
Installation
Moulded case circuit breaker is mainly installed with screw, easy to press, good contact and stable operation. The miniature circuit breaker is mainly installed through the guide rail, sometimes due to insufficient torque and poor contact. Because of their different installation methods, the moulded case circuit breaker is more stable and less difficult to install than the small circuit breaker.
Operation and Life
Operationally speaking. Moulded case circuit breaker adopts two sets of devices to protect overcurrent and short circuit separately. The action value of overcurrent protection can be adjusted manually, which is convenient and rapid. However, micro circuit breakers share a set of devices for over-current and short-circuit, the current is not adjustable, which leads to many times can not solve the problem. Moulded case circuit breaker has large phase distance, arc extinguishing cover, strong arc extinguishing ability, can withstand larger short circuit current, and is not easy to cause inter-phase short circuit, so its service life is longer than that of the principal of miniature circuit breaker.
Use flexibility
In this respect, the moulded case circuit breaker is more prominent, and its flexibility in setting is better than the micro-circuit breaker. The over-current and short-circuit protection devices of moulded case circuit breakers are independent, and the operation value of over-current protection in use can be adjusted flexibly. Over-current protection and short-circuit protection of miniature circuit breaker are unified devices, and there are some deficiencies in adjusting flexibility. According to the above situation, it seems that all miniature circuit breakers are in the downwind, but in fact, for some time, it is necessary to choose miniature circuit breakers.
